April Ross
April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at many Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join her at Tokyo. But more than that, Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. Perhaps it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. But she's convinced that top honors are firmly at hand. Ross was mentioned on NBC Boston as saying that if you play your best, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. Also, I am going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born in California in the city of Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area along with her parents and sibling. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of activities. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball as well as basketball as well as track and running. However, she was a standout during this game. During her high school career she played middle blocker, outside setter and hitter in the court for volleyball, according to her college bio. The results of her efforts were acknowledged when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Player of the Year. In addition, she was awarded the award in 2000. Although Ross Klineman and Ross are in the spotlight since 2017, the former was already an established athlete on the beach long before their pairing. In fact, she won several major championships while playing using two partners, one of which is the volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 through 2013. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she had retired. They both won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans of USC in her college after graduating from in high school. The time she spent at USC was awe-inspiring. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. In addition, she helped her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, however, she was able to achieve the All-American distinction. During her final two seasons with the Trojans in the program, she led them to success by winning two successive national titles. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the US according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross was a USC international relations student, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross never saw her daughter achieve the heights in beach volleyball. When Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. But she still keeps her mother in her the heart. Margie has been an inspiration both in her personal life and at the beach.
