Dana Elaine Owens also known as Queen Latifah is an American rapper singer. in film, music and television Queen Latifah has received 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards (two Image Awards), a Grammy Award as well as six more Grammy nods and has been nominated for her Emmy Award. Queen Latifah grew up in Newark, NJ. Her parents are Rita Owens, Sr. and Lancelot Owens Jr. Latifah's mother and father split when Latifah was ten years old.
