The acting career of Reese Witherspoon began to take off when she enrolled at Stanford University. Her early successes in her acting career were in films such as Pleasantville and Election however, her performance in the film Elle Woods was the turning stage for her. Witherspoon went on to win her first Academy Award in 2005 for her part on Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are some of her recent films. The actress also received an Oscar nomination for Wild. Witherspoon has also had success on television as a producer and co-star on David E. Kelley's popular award-winning TV series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon at New Orleans Louisiana, March 22, 1976. A daughter of a doctor and nurse Witherspoon grew up within Nashville Tennessee where she was an aspiring debutante. She also attended Harpeth Hall, which was a private girls' high school. Witherspoon was randomly occasion in 1991, responded to an advertisement in the local paper for additional roles. In the age of 14 years of age, Witherspoon landed the lead role in her first feature film The Man in the Moon. Witherspoon was so tempted to give up acting in her first year of high school that she contemplated pursuing a career in medicine. The year 1996 was the year her performance as the main actress in Freeway earned her the Catalonian International Film Festival Award for Best actress. Following a break from college of the entire time She then studied English literature at Stanford University briefly before returning to work. Her career began in the mid 2000s, appearing in a number of small-sized television shows. in the comedic The Invisible Man, 2003 she made her debut in a feature film. Her television career began with House of Lies Whitney. The credits on her film resume include The Dictator, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Dictator. As well as her acting work, Ms. Williams is also a talented artist who has exhibited her works in various exhibitions.
